Max Vidor had a fairly good life in 14th century Europe. He was smart, sensible, strong, had many friends, and his trading business was booming. He'd seen every trick and encountered every danger, from clever con-men to brutal pirates, which he handled with ease. But one day when he and his family accidentally stumbled upon a remote dwelling of an unusual woman he realized that life had not prepared him for an encounter with what may quite possibly be a genuine witch. But was she a witch... or something else?
