Rita Kakkar, PhD, retired as Senior Professor and Head of the Department of Chemistry at the University of Delhi after a distinguished 37-year career where she taught various subjects in Physical Chemistry. Additionally Dr. Kakkar She also served as Dean of the Faculty of Science at the university. She is the author of a well-received book on Atomic and Molecular Spectroscopy, published by Cambridge University Press. The book has gained international recognition, has been translated into several foreign languages, and is praised for its simple, concise language and engaging narrative style, often likened to a storybook. Professor Kakkar has published over 200 research papers in the field of Computational Chemistry and has successfully supervised 50 doctoral theses.
