Making It to Basecamp
Autor Go-To-Guy Timberlakeen Limba Engleză Paperback – 10 aug 2026
So why hasn't anyone called? Because doing what feels right and doing what the market requires are two different things.
Rex is a retired Army Ranger with proven leadership, a verified certification, and a company nobody's heard of. When he finally runs the search he should have run months earlier, he finds $800,000 in contracts he never knew existed. Dana spent 14 years inside a federal agency and walked out with the wrong half of what she knew. Marcus built a million-dollar firm and was told the government was easy money. It cost him $77,500 to learn otherwise.
Making It to Basecamp is an actionable fable drawn from Guy "Go-To-Guy" Timberlake's 38 years in federal contracting. The ones who make it do the work in an order most companies get backwards. This book shows you what comes first.
The mountain has no opinion about your resume. It only cares whether you're prepared for the climb.

Notă biografică
Guy "Go-To-Guy" Timberlake is Chief Visionary Officer and Co-Founder of The American Small Business Coalition - The ASBC. He has been actively involved in federal government contracting for 38 years, building a base of public sector ground truth dating back to 1988.Guy is the creator of Ethical Stalking for Government Contractors(R), the registered methodology and flagship framework that has been the engine of The ASBC since 2009. The methodology grew out of the work itself: tested in the field, refined through repetition, and documented only after it proved itself with the small businesses and government customers who depended on it. Guy has taught it through the Ethical Stalking for Government Contractors(R) Bootcamp, a program that predates his publishing work by more than fifteen years and stands on its own. Guy earned the nickname "Go-To-Guy" over years of being the person military and civilian customers called when reliability and commitment to mission were non-negotiable. That same standard shapes everything published under GettingFED KitchenWERX/The ASBC, the imprint through which his work reaches a wider audience. Guy co-founded The ASBC in 2004 with an unconventional, doctrine-challenging approach to helping small businesses succeed in the federal marketplace, an approach that has held firm even when it was unpopular. He has been recognized by government and industry peers alike for holding that position before the broader market caught up to it. Guy lives with his wife, Maggie, President of The ASBC, who has been the operational center of the organization since before it had a name worth keeping, and their daughter, who is the point.
