Jared Goudsmit is a Chicago-based puzzle maker and playwright. He is the lead editor of the Universal Sunday crossword, and has created puzzles for The New York Times, LA Times, Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and the Crosswords With Friends app. He has also constructed for the Apple News+ Emoji Game, Netflix’s Keysmash game, and the Celebrity Cipher. As a playwright, his horror comedy “Dead Air” and film-noir parody “Blacktop Jungle” are published by YouthPLAYS, and his Wild West satire, “Derailed,” is published by Samuel French. When he’s not writing clues, you can find Jared playing cutthroat board games with his friends or eating toasted ravioli in his hometown, St. Louis.
