Madge is a humourous, poignant look at growing up in the 70's through to the nineties. It concentrates on the relationship between the author and his mother and introduces many characters along the way. It is set in Widnes, a small town south of Liverpool. The book takes us as far as Yugoslavia and not so far the Island of Jersey and Eire.
It touches on the authors Lithuanian heritage with hilarious affect. If you thought Angela's Ashes and Our Kid were a good read. Then hopefully... This book is for you.
