"The overwhelming smell of blood was sickening." The crime scene was almost too much for the veteran detective, Chief Constable Simmons to stomach. The top floor of an apartment building...covered in blood. The residents...cut into pieces. He could not stand staying inside of it for more than a few minutes at a time without being sick. However, it was what his men discovered on the roof that shocked him to his core. An apparently traumatized teen girl, covered in blood, holding desperately onto a dead baby.
