It all started out to save her crumbling marriage.

Marit set out to hike the entire Appalachian Trail, 2,174 miles long, going through fourteen states to finally reach the finish line in a little under six months. She knew nothing about the wilderness and the hike seemed impossible to do. She would soon discover that the A. T. was more than a walk in the woods; it was a life's trail.
