Notă biografică
Tarunendr Singh is Director, Business Development at Siddharth Grease & Lubes Pvt. Ltd., India. With more than 38 years of experience in lubricating greases, industrial lubrication, and tribology, he has worked extensively in grease formulation, manufacturing, technical services, lubrication troubleshooting, condition monitoring, and failure analysis. He holds a Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU), Varanasi, and an MBA in Marketing. Dr. Singh has held senior technical and leadership positions at Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd., Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd., and Balmer Lawrie & Co. Ltd. Throughout his career, he has been actively involved in the development, application, testing, and technical support of lubricating greases for automotive and industrial applications. He has authored and co-authored more than 100 technical papers, conference presentations, industry-specific grease handbooks for internal circulation, and technical publications related to lubricating greases, tribology, lubrication engineering, grease formulation, and application technology. He actively contributes to professional and standards-development organizations and currently serves as Senior Vice President of the NLGI India Chapter, Secretary of the Tribology Society of India, and Convener of the Grease Sectional Committee of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). He is a recipient of the Golden Grease Gun Award from the National Lubricating Grease Institute (NLGI), USA, and the Lifetime Achievement Award from the NLGI India Chapter.
Harish Hirani is Director of the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT), India, and Professor (HAG) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi. He is an internationally recognized expert in tribology, lubrication engineering, machine design, bearing technology, and surface engineering, with more than three decades of distinguished experience in teaching, research, technology development, and institutional leadership. Prof. Hirani has made significant contributions to the advancement of tribology through his research on grease lubrication, bearing tribology, lubricant rheology, hydrodynamic bearings, condition monitoring, machine design, and application-oriented lubrication engineering. His work has successfully bridged the gap between fundamental scientific research and industrial practice, leading to innovative technologies, engineering solutions, patents, technology transfers, and extensive collaboration with industry. He served as the Director of the CSIR–Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute (CMERI), Durgapur, India's premier national laboratory in mechanical engineering. He has also held academic positions at IIT Bombay and IIT Delhi, where he has taught and supervised undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students in tribology, machine design, and mechanical systems. Prof. Hirani has authored numerous research publications, books, and book chapters, and has led several nationally important research and technology development projects in lubrication engineering, renewable energy systems, advanced manufacturing, and mechanical design. His current research interests include lubricating greases, sustainable lubrication technologies, intelligent condition monitoring, predictive maintenance, digital lubrication systems, and the application of artificial intelligence in tribology and machinery reliability.
