When Assistant Coach Love finds himself assigned to ferry grizzled yet legendary Coach Woody around on a springtime fundraising tour, he discovers not all football fans are created equal. There are fans and then there are fanatics. In this rollicking novel, Coach Love must learn to navigate the world of micromanaging boosters, know-it-all diehards, and the higher-ups who can make or break his career-all the while juggling a sports reporter who hates sports and a tangle of love interests. If-and only if-Coach Love is lucky, he may wind up still employed, still sane, and finally knowing when to run, pass, or punt on matters of the heart. First published by W. W. Norton, 2012.
