This literary cycle of cosmic horror by the American writer H. P. Lovecraft belongs to the tradition of the Anglo-Saxon horror story that renews the worn-out Gothic horror of ghosts in a realistic terror, of monstrous and unknown beings that hide in the darkest places of the Earth, time and space: beneath the everyday and known world hides a prodigious and terrifying reality that stalks humanity from the darkness and plunges into panic or madness anyone who dares to glimpse the abysses of that elusive dimension.
