During this final volume (1926-1931) of the "Lillian's Diaries" triology the financial well-being of the U.S. is slowly eroding until it culminates with the Stock Market Crash and the beginning of the Great Depression. Lillian's life is impacted, not so much by the financial decline of the country, but by the decline of her own health and several traumatic events within her family.
