The story deals with the extraordinary value of each human life and solidarity among the people. We have an American family, the Megans, at the time of the Great depression, in the thirties, in the Unied States.John and Terry are husband amd wife and they have two beloved children, Jim and Mary.They live in Baltimore in the State of Maryland. John, suddenly, loses his job as a journalist, but he receive help from his brother Henry.Henry runs a small hotel in Boston where the Megans decide to go.On the way, incredible things happen which impress them deeply.People live under terrible circumstances around in a world full of darkness and disconfort.But something looks different.Small episodes, now here in Baltimore, then in Boston show a light.People, in trouble, sometimes meet a touch of kindness and heart they didn't expect absolutely.
