Lucretia Cañizares is a twenty-four-year-old young woman, a native of Madrid, Spain. After a night out with her friends on a fateful Saturday, bored with the evening, she takes her car to head back home... Of a sudden, she awakens in a dark, dust-laden expanse with a pungent reek of brimstone, stark naked. Her worst forebodings regarding her whereabouts vanish when she discovers she has unmistakably awakened in Hell. On the other hand stands Malfario, the Great Chieftain-an ancient archangel executed by Yahweh when his dalliances amongst the daughters of men were uncovered-who has ascended to the pinnacle of Hell's hierarchical power. From his tower, situated upon the opposing bank of the Acheron (at the precise juncture where the disembarkation of the souls conveyed by Charon takes place), he scans the vast gloom, whilst suffering the torments of his squandered prestige and, above all, the loss of his beloved mortal, consuming himself in despair and hatred. During an event wherein his very station is at stake, Malfario discovers Lucretia, who reminds him of his lost love, and who appears there of a sudden, entirely outside the customary procedure. The two shall unite in a makeshift alliance to uncover the plot and the machinations that have brought about this state of affairs, all beneath the watchful gaze of the other demons-and most notably, the Demon Queen, who covets Malfario's hierarchical station. Immerse yourself within this dark fantasy universe whose theatre is the boundless, terrible, and ancient Hell described by Dante in his Divine Comedy as well as within Virgil's Aeneid, in a narrative the like of which has never been witnessed before.
