“All children are created equal.” —Marian Wright Edelman
Born to make a difference, young Marian grew her mind by reading the books in her father’s library. Daddy told Marian that people who read books can change the world. When she grew up, Marian saw the need for change to improve the lives of children, so she became a lawyer to help make better laws for all people and went on to found the Children’s Defense Fund in 1973.
Persistent. Strong. Caring. Courageous. Marian Wright Edelman changed the world.
This inspiring picture book biography includes a note to young readers from Marian herself!
