I originally published this collection in 1992. Since I have included a few of the poems in my book, Jane Promised Not to Tell, I've had requests from readers to make the collection available again. I'm not promising epic literary genius here. That's not what this compilation is about. Walt Whitman I'm not, although I did have a dream about him just before I originally published this booklet. In the dream, I shared with Mr. Whitman my concern that people would see my life as being black and white, that I didn't want to go through my life as the symbol for all survivors. He simply looked at me, smiled, assured me that everything would be okay, and said that I should then write about all of the colours of the world. Wise man that Mr. Whitman. Regardless, this collection is about other survivors knowing that, whatever they are feeling, they are not alone.
