In this harrowing novel of psychological suspense, a suburban family's veneer of normalcy begins to unravel as buried secrets and dark suspicions rise to the surface.
From the outside, Sanna and Martin's life looks normal. Perfect even. They have stable careers and trusted friends, and they are devoted parents to two teenagers in the upper-middle-class suburbs of Stockholm. But when a dark and disturbing video of their daughter, Mya, surfaces, Sanna and Martin's perfect life begins to implode.
Before long, a once-loyal community turns against them. As the school authorities get involved and their home security system goes rogue, setting off chilling alarms both real and imagined, Sanna and Martin soon find themselves driven deeper and deeper into paranoia.
They're beginning to wonder how well they actually know their daughter. But if Mya's secrets don't destroy this family, Sanna and Martin's own secrets might.
