Every first daughter of the Fierro family is bound by a blood pact to the Demon King, a lethal legacy Elena always dismissed as a haunting folktale. Until the night it becomes her reality.
When the King's sister, Gwen, and his formidable general, Bram, arrive at her door, Elena's fate is sealed. Abducted to the depths of Hell, she prepares for the inferno she was promised. Instead, she finds a realm of gothic beauty: a land of oxblood skies and sprawling, blood-red roses.
Even more unexpected are her captors. Gwen treats her like a sister; Bram offers her unwavering respect; and the Demon King, Kane, meets her with a guilt and compassion that defies his monstrous reputation. Yet, beneath the beauty of the castle, a deadly political game is in motion. A traitor lurks within the court, desperate to overthrow Kane, and Elena holds the key to his undoing. Trapped by a volatile, uncontrollable power burning in her veins, she faces an impossible choice. Her mind screams for freedom, urging her to shatter the magical chains of her marriage, but her heart is growing dangerously attached to the King, his general, and his knight.
As the coup draws near, Elena must decide: will she surrender to a love that could destroy her, or will she fight to save her own skin, even if it means betraying the only people who have ever truly seen her?
