It is the year 2213. Fifteen-year-old Felix Taylor is the last person on Earth who can speak and read Latin. Nicholas Maes is a high-school history teacher and also teaches classics at the University of Waterloo. He is the author of the adult novel Dead Man's Float. He lives in Toronto.
