The hilarious true story of a young man who breaks free from the shackles and responsibilities of England in the late 1970's. He sets out on a quest for freedom, fun, adventure and romance. Beneath the azure blue skies of southern France he becomes embroiled in the lives of new friends such as Crazy John, the Baron, Barry the hippy and the beautiful Dominique who feed his restless desire for excitement and the thrill of the unknown. Yet throughout his journey he struggles with the dilemma between escapism, selfish lust and the love he feels for the girl who waits patiently at home, hoping for his return. Although this is an amusing story of youth in all its hedonistic glory, it also provides a searing commentary on the choice between freedom and commitment.
