Larger Than Life: Larger Than Life, cartea 1
Autor Daniel J. Middletonen Limba Engleză Hardback – 31 ian 2027 – vârsta până la 18 ani
Larger Than Life: The Legend of Martin Delany tells his story sideways, through the eyes of four ordinary people who each crossed his path at a different turning point in American history: a grieving youth during Pittsburgh's cholera outbreak, a young apprentice caught between two great men's clashing visions at an abolitionist newspaper, a skeptical expedition member betting everything on a homeland across the ocean, and a soldier who enlists in the 54th Massachusetts chasing the rumor of a Black officer who might finally lead men who look like him.
None of them ever meet each other. All of them are changed by the same man.
Grounded in the real, documented history of Delany's life, this is a story that doesn't smooth over the hard parts-the triumphs are real, and so are the costs.
Not every hero leads. Some just make you brave enough to follow.
A standalone YA historical novella, Book One in the Larger Than Life series-each volume built around a different, underserved figure in Black history, told through the people who stood near enough to be changed by them.

Notă biografică
Daniel J. Middleton is an independent historian, author, and illustrator based in Oswego, New York. After two decades working across the book publishing industry-as a designer, editor, and advisor to small presses and independent authors-he founded Unique Coloring to correct something he'd watched go unaddressed for too long: how rarely Black history and the Black experience were given the research, care, and authentic representation they deserved on the page. That same standard shapes every book in the Larger Than Life series. Each volume begins with primary, secondary, and tertiary sources, carefully vetted before a single scene is written-because getting the history right matters, even in a work of fiction built around it. The narrators who carry these stories are invented. The history that shapes them isn't. Daniel also writes about Black history for Unique Coloring's website.
