When Rita Lee Taylor hires the Top Cats, six male strippers and their diva MC, all she has in mind is raising money for the Hobart Junction volunteer fire department. But soon hair styles, a mysterious decency committee, and a missing park fountain complicate matters. Rita Lee is too busy to notice the increasing intensity of her friendship with Walt Billings, editor of the town's newspaper and its most reluctant eligible bachelor. When police raid the show, and four of the town's most prominent women are arrested, the citizens of Hobart Junction are forced to take a second look at what it means to be "moral." And Rita Lee and Walt must decide if the risks of love are worth taking.
