Ever since Kona was a little boy, he has been sharing his local seashores with sea turtles, one of them even being named by the locals; her name is Aliikia. Kona saw Aliikia daily when he would surf with his best friend, Mika. While surfing on a warm, tropical day, he saw Aliikia and realized exactly what he wanted to do for his 5th grade science project. From that moment, it was all he could think about.
