Kate is the daughter of an Amish farmer who marries a school teacher in 1931. She always had a garden and chickens and a cow if possible as school teachers did not make a lot of money. They had five children and when the youngest was 13 years old, she tragically died. Other terrible events happened to this couple. This is the story of their strength and courage as they continued their life together. It also tells of the help they received by their faith in God.
