Moving on from a broken relationship, Sarah's struggles begin from the moment she arrives in Forestville after having a run-in with handsome firefighter Sam Ward. Finding him rude and completely unreasonable, Sarah regrets ever meeting him; a feeling that is clearly mutual. Having recently ended a tempestuous relationship, Sam has no patience for irrational and short-tempered Sarah Roberts, yet with every encounter Sam finds himself increasingly attracted to her. Amidst her struggles dealing with Sam, further problems arise for Sarah when her ex-boyfriend Travis Boynton, star quarterback for the Watertown Broncos, decides he has revenge to seek following the end of their turbulent relationship, leaving Sarah wondering how to deal with Travis' escalating scare tactics and her growing feelings towards Sam.
