Just My Job

Autor Jenni Hutchinson
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 29 apr 2014
Jenni Hutchinson - born on the Isle of Wight, raised in Southampton - tells the story of a South Coast native, Lily McGoldrick, and her tumultuous final year at university. Lily takes a job in a shop to make ends meet, and falls head-over-heels in love with her supervisor, charismatic Jacek Bogdanowski. Subsequently, Lily and her close friends encounter love, pain, success, failure and the consequences of their actions. The narrator, Kate, is speaking from the future - but what is her relationship to Lily? And who is the young girl, born and raised in a world unlike our own, who introduces the story? The author, a Christian who has had her share of good and bad times growing up, said, I wanted to write a book with a spiritual dimension, but I didn't want to ram 'religion' down people's throats. I also wanted to write a page-turner - I didn't want the story to be a dull, intellectual tome, but I did want to get people thinking. The characters are thoughtful people, after all. This is Jenni Hutchinson's first novel. In the past, she has enjoyed blogging, short story writing and song writing - usually about football, although this central theme is sometimes cleverly hidden.
