Ten-year-old Jennifer Cowan expects the worst. Bigger than the other kids and awkward in clothes, she finds comfort in avoiding people and hiding. That all changes when, to her horror, she's invited to the most popular girl in school's eleventh birthday party.
Forced to go by her mother, Jennifer is given one very strict rule: do not go into the birthday girl's house. Forgetting the rule, she slips inside to hide and stumbles into an enchanted forest. Realizing she disobeyed her mother, Jennifer must find a way out of the forest, and out of the house, before her mother finds out.
