GOLD, GUNSMOKE, AND A RECKONING HE CAN'T ESCAPE.
In 1850, Jedediah Parks parts ways with his twin brother at the end of the Oregon Trail, determined to carve out a future of his own. After a brutal attack leaves his mule business in ruins, Jed sets his sights on California's booming gold fields. With his loyal partner Pete, a grizzled old miner named Silas, and Lily, the nurse who refuses to leave his thoughts, he's ready to risk everything for another chance.
But gold brings trouble as fast as fortune. Outlaws close in on San Francisco. Old enemies refuse to stay buried. And the man hunting Jed has waited too long for revenge to let him walk away now.
Jedediah Parks came west to build a new life. Now he'll have to fight to keep it.
