This is my Journal. I grew up in Georgia during the 1940's, 1950's, and 1960's. In 1968, when I was the Chairman of Humanities at a branch of the University of Georgia, I abruptly moved to Los Angeles, California, taking a "leave of absence" to get my PhD. After I moved - taking my husband and three small children with me, I went through some dark days. I lost my way, so to speak. On a tip, I attended a weekend retreat in nearby San Jacinto to learn about change from American psychologist, Ira Progoff. Ira had studied under Carl Jung and was known for his development of a Journal approach to humanistic psychology in the lives of ordinary people. As a result of that weekend, I began writing in a Journal. I started recording my struggle for meaning and direction in life. It is intimate and much too personal. But, I am publishing it anyway in the hopes that it will help someone who is lost and looking for a way out.
