Can you imagine growing up in the English countryside during the Second World War? Amidst the darkness of night, bombs dropped over our heads. War was all we knew. After the war, our family crossed the Atlantic to start a new life in Canada. Everything was different. Attending a new school in a new country with different words and different clothes made it difficult to fit in. Years later, the doctor suggested we take my aging mother to a specialist to be diagnosed. We wondered if they would be able to help her. Take a walk with me from 1939 to 1990.
