In this suspenseful meditation on how grief can warp our perception, a widow's search for answers begins with a comic book...and could end with a truth she's not ready to face.
It's been five years since Julia Flynn lost her husband, Richard, in a car accident. She's managed to rebuild her life--a new love, thriving as a museum ornithologist, moving past the grief and unanswered questions.
And then someone asks a new one.
Comic book superfan Kevin has noticed striking similarities between Richard's work and The Seeker, a new series that aligns with more than just Richard's style. Imagery of the cliff top where he died, in print and irrefutable, scratches the suspicious itch in Julia's brain that Richard could still be alive.
Following the clues inked across The Seeker's pages, Julia and Kevin embark on a road trip to find the truth. All the while, more fans mobilize online, making her wonder...How much do they know about Richard? About her? Is this comic book artist just a copycat, capitalizing on Richard's fame and mystique?
Or did Julia never really know the man she married at all?
