On September 18, 2000, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission published a final rule, 10 CFR Part 70, for licensing the use of special nuclear material. In this rule, NRC included a requirement that certain licensee/applicants subject to 10 CFR 70 conduct an integrated safety analysis.
