Integrated Reservoir Engineering: From Fundamentals to Field Development

Autor D. Nathan Meehan
en Limba Engleză Hardback – 31 ian 2027
Integrated Reservoir Engineering equips readers with the full spectrum of knowledge and skills needed to understand and manage petroleum reservoirs in today’s energy environment. From its foreword by John Lee, to fundamental rock and fluid properties, to advanced topics in recovery optimization and energy transition technologies, the book supports both undergraduate and graduate-level coursework, while also serving as a professional reference. The material is technically rigorous, thoroughly sourced, and grounded in real-world field practices and engineering judgment.

• Provides an integrated and systems-based treatment of petroleum reservoir engineering.
• Offers detailed chapters on material balance, pressure transient analysis, relative permeability, fluid modeling, well performance, forecasting, enhanced oil recovery, and economic evaluation—all unified by consistent units, notation, and problem-solving methodology.
• Integrates emerging topics such as carbon capture and storage (CCS), horizontal wells, rate-transient analysis, and sustainability considerations.
• Richly illustrated with over 100 original figures, field examples, and homework problems throughout.
• Features numerous worked example problems with supporting information including Python code available for download.

Emphasizing decision-quality insights over black-box models and balancing theoretical depth with applications, this textbook is uniquely valuable for both petroleum engineering classroom instruction and field development planning.
Figure slides are available for adopting professors.
