Set in a Spanish colony in the Caribbean before the abolition of slavery, "Insanctity" chronicles the chaos caused by supernatural statues of Catholic virgins and saints bought in a botanica (shop that specializes in folk magic) by Matildo, the town's so-called priest.

The clay statues, which represent the contradictory merging of the spiritual beliefs of the Spanish Catholic conquerors and the African slaves we refer to now as Santeria, come to life and become aware of their African counterparts.

Fed up with the parishioners' prayers and the niche they are confined to, the saints decide to take revenge on Matildo and return to Africa. Will they make it back home to the distant continent or will they forever be bound to their clay bodies within the church walls?"
