Vietnam had, and still does have, a different meaning to me than most Marines. After my initial seven months, I became captivated by Vietnam-the people, the country, the adrenaline rush of hunting the enemy, and a certain Vietnamese girl. I was in my comfort zone. I had everything I wanted and needed, and dying was not something I worried about. Why I felt that way will become apparent in this book. I dreaded the day when I would have to leave Vietnam.
