In this exhilarating sequel to If We Survive the Night, the zombie apocalypse rages on and Quinn's future hangs in the balance. Can she do what it takes to survive the end of world, or will she be eaten alive by more than just zombies?
It's only been a few weeks since the zombie-like "carriers" invaded Quinn's youth treatment facility, but everything has changed, and she is out of options. Alone, devastated, and dealing with a life-threatening injury because of her own choices, Quinn needs help. Desperately.
Salvation comes in the form of New City—a fortress risen from the ashes of St. Louis—but it comes at a price. In exchange for medical treatment, Quinn must join a Rover squad, tasked with hunting carriers and protecting the city from the ravenous swarms.
At first Quinn is underestimated by the Rovers…but not for long. Because the ruthless traits that have made Quinn an outsider all her life now allow her to excel in the apocalypse. But her new safe haven presents unexpected challenges. Quinn will have to use every skill she has to navigate the city's ever-changing rules and balance the intricate alliances she needs to survive. As tensions rise in New City and every day grows more dangerous, Quinn must decide if it's safe to trust the others, if she's better off on her own, or if survival is impossible either way.
