I'll Pay You in Bullets
Autor Nick Marinoen Limba Engleză Paperback – 11 mai 2027
When Nick Marino's great-grandfather, Italian immigrant Angelo Teti, was shot in the back and murdered in Vancouver in 1914, he left behind a pregnant wife and seven children. I'll Pay You in Bullets follows the true story of Marino's colorful family as they spread their wings throughout Vancouver, running corner stores, restaurants, and nightclubs and working as teachers, longshoremen, and salesmen, all while leaving a trail of bootlegging, assault, gambling, guns, and gangsters.
In this book, Marino uncovers secrets of his family's boisterous past, attempts to reunite with Angelo's living relatives, and travels to his great-grandparents' hometown in Abruzzo, Italy, to find their childhood homes. Told with abundant humor and affection, I'll Pay You in Bullets reveals a truly one-of-a-kind Italian Canadian family.
