CDR Al Grove, then a LT, served on the staff of the Asiatic Fleet as Assistant Communications-Electronics Officer at the outbreak of WW II. He served in Manila, on Corregidor, and on Cebu as the Japanese Imperial Fleet swept through the Philippines. This is his story.
