Tim Moore understands success. As a serial entrepreneur who started with nothing--he failed several grades, he had no formal business education, and he was on his way to becoming a priest--he has gone on to found numerous flourishing enterprises.

"I'm an eternal optimist. I always think there's a way forward," Moore writes in How I Made It. At the age of twenty-one, he transformed a one-man, one-truck moving outfit into the biggest moving company in Canada, AMJ Campbell Van Lines, which twenty years later had a thousand trucks on the road and boasted $125 million in annual revenue; later, he founded Premiere Suites, which became the largest extended-stay provider in Canada.

Moore believes his model of success can work for other entrepreneurs. Among the most important tools for success are work ethic, strong interpersonal skills, and integrity. His management style is about attracting talented individuals with great attitudes, strong values, and a great capacity to laugh and have fun.
