To stay with the woman she loves in Cuba, Phyllis first must leave her if only for a short while. But her assignment to track down, sedate, and return a child molester for trial grows increasingly complicated as the wealthy target stays one step ahead of her with stops in Montreal, Atlanta, New Orleans, Houston (where Phyllis falls asleep on the train and ends up in San Antonio), Bangkok, Pattaya, the River Kwai, and Ayutthaya.
