A clean contemporary romance in which a schoolteacher who has given up on love meets the Secret Service agent investigating death threats against a relative she never knew existed. Sweet and slow burn, with a guarded heart, an unexpected family, circling danger and a protective hero.
She Stopped Waiting For Special. Then Special Knocked On Her Door.
After no luck in the true-love department by age 32, sweet, unassuming schoolteacher Emory Dockins has pretty much given up on ever finding the right guy. Someone to love her and cherish her loyalty and traditional values, not mock her for them and then break her heart.
Never in a million years does she expect to catch the eye of the intimidating but swoon-worthy Secret Service agent Vince Murano, who comes to question her about death threats against an aunt she never knew existed. Life is funny like that. And maybe Emory shouldn't give up on her happy ever after just yet. But with danger circling a family she's only beginning to discover, can she risk her guarded heart on the man sworn to protect it?
