A swoon-worthy vampire/human romance. Twenty years of pining and devotion leads to bitter heartache. Can a tender friendship turn into eternal love?
Anything for friendship. Everything for love.
The biggest mistake of Mateo Rojas's life is twenty years in the making.
It starts when Mateo meets his roommate freshman year of college. Hunter is the best friend he thought he'd never have, and when their medical careers align, Mateo decides to never leave Hunter's side.
Hunter Beaumont has a crush on his straight roommate, but he's handling it. He'd never sacrifice his friendship with Mateo. Even when Hunter is turned into a vampire, a monster that isn't supposed to be real, and he stands to lose everything, Mateo is all that matters.
But Hunter's life has a new dark side, and keeping Mateo safe comes at a price.
As the years go by, their friendship shifts. Straight no longer fits Mateo, and Hunter reveals his vampire nature. Magic is destroying Hunter's life, but perhaps Mateo can fix it. No one has ever scientifically defined vampire powers. What if understanding is the key to breaking Hunter free of his bonds?
It's a brilliant idea. If only it didn't lead Mateo to ruin. If only working so hard to preserve their friendship didn't break Hunter's heart.
Mateo did it all for love. For Hunter. The mess he made might be impossible to untangle, but he has to try.
