A young American (Kaiden) learns about Henry Christopher, one of the greatest leaders of Haiti from a book his mother gave him. He discovers that Christopher, as a teenager, fought on the side of the revolutionaries in the American War of Independence. Kaiden follows Christopher's life after the war to his ascension as the king of Haiti. In a story for all ages, Bertony Paul helps us look at Henry Christopher through the eyes of a nine-year old American.
