A LEGEND IS BORN The place is ancient Persia. The era is during the reign of the great sultans. In times of tyranny and oppression, refugees would flee the persecution of their homeland, seeking asylum in other kingdoms with just rulers. Such a quest was called a hejira, and many such adventures became the stuff of legend. In "Hejira" not all who are ill-treated are poor, not all who are thieves are black of heart, and a common need for freedom can make friends out of strangers.
