Madison Morgan is on the run, trying to get away from a hit man. She has something he wants and Madison is clueless as to what it might be since she has no memory of anything prior to the past seven years. But Madison has an angel, one with neither wings nor halo, who comes and goes as he pleases. She can't remember how long she's been seeing him, but she knows why he appears-to remind her he is watching over her. Seven years ago, Asa Bolton, investigative reporter for an online newspaper, witnessed the murder of a family that forever haunts him. Now he's doing his best to solve the mystery and perhaps earn a Pulitzer Prize in the process. Oliver Martin, a mysterious friend of Madison's husband, manages to get close to Madison, but not so close that he is able to unlock her secret before the hit man comes after her. When past and present converge, it's anyone's guess who is good and who is evil or who will live and who will die, or whether or not Madison's memory will be restored.
