Notă biografică
DR. PEETS TALBOT completed medical school at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN. In her final year of medical school, she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society (election to Alpha Omega Alpha is an honor signifying a lasting commitment to scholarship, leadership, professionalism, and service). Dr. Peets Talbot completed her post-graduate training at Virginia Commonwealth University in a combined internal medicine and pediatrics residency program. She was the first physician in Bermuda to be trained in internal medicine and pediatrics, which is the acute and chronic disease management for kids and adults. She later finished a fellowship in obesity medicine and is currently enrolled in a fellowship for functional and nutritional medicine. Dr. Peets Talbot became passionate about treating the root cause illness after seeing many patients suffer with unexpected or premature medical complications during her residency training. She believes that to improve and optimize one’s health you have to go beyond conventional therapies, such as routine labs and medications. She returned to Bermuda in 2011, and launched her private practice under Ocean Rock Wellness in 2015. In her private practice, she has been able to advance medical care in Bermuda by offering specialized lab and health testing that are integral in treating conditions from the root cause. She believes that everyone has the potential to be their own health hero, and with the right guidance and education can unlock their health solution.
BETH HOLLIS completed her Bachelor of honors in Health Sciences (BHSc) at Brock University St. Catharines, Ontario. This was followed by her Master’s degree in physical therapy (MPT) at Western University London, Ontario. Beth has a special interest in chronic pain management and also uses Acupuncture as another tool to promote healing. Beth was working on the wards and in the out-patient physiotherapy department at our local hospital, KEMH, before bringing her wide range of knowledge and skills to Ocean Rock Wellness. She truly enjoys seeing her clients overcome pain, recover from injuries, and find a new confidence in their bodies.
Beth also makes giving back to the community a priority. She is now Deputy Chair of the Bermuda Physiotherapy Association (BPA) after completing four years as their Educational Officer. Beth also sits on the Board of Physiotherapists, always supporting and advocating for her profession. Her passion for learning is closely mirrored by her passion for teaching. Beth is a yoga teacher and loves creatively combining her skills as a physiotherapist with love for yoga. Lastly, Beth just started working at the K. Margaret Carter Center, helping their service users, who each have unique, special needs. Beth grew up with a houseful of foster siblings, each with mental and or physical disabilities, so she has come in a full circle, now getting to work with the population that inspired her to pursue a career in physiotherapy.
