A TV journalist's investigation into a disappearance and an unsolved murder uncovers the answers buried in her lover's past in a gripping novel of psychological suspense by the author of As Far As She Knows.
Can a young woman's vanishing be linked to her mother's brutal murder a dozen years before? For ambitious Arab American TV journalist Rima Kassab, the sensational case has all the elements of a career-making story: a mysterious disappearance, a cold-case murder, and family secrets. But the truth might be buried in her own lover's past...
Rima learns that her fiancé, Elias Kanaan, is the murder victim's brother--and was once the prime suspect. While Rima trusts the man she loves, she's been betrayed before and can't help asking herself what else Elias might be hiding.
When the investigation becomes a race against time, and disturbing evidence against Elias continues to mount, Rima faces an impossible choice: reveal what she knows, or keep silent and risk being complicit in a cover-up. She vows to uncover the truth. Even if it costs her life.
