What if seeing the beauty in other faiths helped you treasure your own even more?
In Having Holy Envy, Alonzo L. Gaskill explores how spiritual truths found in other religions can enrich--rather than challenge--our understanding of the restored gospel. With depth and reverence, Gaskill shows how sacred practices from faiths like Judaism, Hinduism, Islam, and Catholicism can illuminate gospel principles and inspire deeper discipleship.
Rather than inviting conversion, this book encourages spiritual reflection. By recognizing the divine light present across the world's various religions, readers can gain fresh appreciation for ordinances, covenants, and personal worship within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
When Lutheran bishop Krister Stendahl learned of Latter-day Saint temple work for the dead, he called it "generous" and "beautiful"--a practice he wished his own faith embraced. That admiration reflects a divine pattern: truth resonates across traditions, and God speaks in many voices.
In this book, readers will:

• Discover gospel parallels across world religions
• See the Restoration through a broader, richer lens
• Learn from LDS leaders who have felt inspired by other faiths
• Find renewed purpose in living covenants more fully

Having holy envy will increase your personal discipleship, by helping you to see Christ and your covenants with Him through new and impactful lenses.
