Charlie is a twenty-three-year-old amateur writer and Chinese adoptee. As a fun fact, they have a sister and two cousins also adopted from China! They're obsessed with putting Lee Kum Kee char sui sauce on things, and is sure their housemate is sick of their one cooking style: questionable fusion. They have a 360 day streak in Chinese on Duolingo and despite their parents' best efforts, the owl has taught them more Chinese than any laoshi. They currently live in Cambridge, England, mostly found coffee shop hopping along the Cam, or exploring the poppy field that's suddenly appeared on their usual run. May is a South Asian Muslim author from London, and a psychoanalysis Masters graduate. She writes gothic fiction and dark fantasy, and has previously appeared in " When Other People Saw Us, They Saw the Dead" in 2022. She is currently querying her personal masterpiece - her gothic, dark fantasy novel. Her literature preferences lean more towards the dark and sometimes literary, with an unusual affinity for eerie tragedies or the viscerally uncomfortable. Bonus points for psychological elements - particularly anything referencing Jung. Other than that, her hobbies include not leaving the house, caring for her bonsai, and admiring new K-pop videos. She holds a BSc in biochemistry, specializing her studies toward making accessible the often-cryptic world of science and medicine. When not writing, she is a hobbyist medical/scientific illustrator and spends her spare time overthinking society and culture. She completed her B.A. (2018) and M.A. (2020) in English Literature from Jadavpur University and has a Diploma in Multimedia and Animation from St. Xavier's College (2016). Her work has appeared in Tor, Strange Horizons, Locus Magazine, Anathema: Spec from the Margins, and in the Bram Stoker-nominated " Human Monsters" anthology, by Dark Matter Magazine, among others. Her stories and poems have been nominated for the Pushcart and Best of the Net prizes, and long-listed for the Toto Award for Creative Writing in 2020. Kavya Venkat is an Indian American writer and medical student who lives at the intersection of science and creative writing. She also physically lives in Florida, where she works on speculative fiction in between doing flashcards about everything that can go wrong in the human body. Her work often focuses on queer and South Asian themes about family and the changes brought by technology. She also enjoys drawing on Hindu mythology as inspiration.
