Hannah Jones is like any other 14-year-old girl except that she has already faced not one but two life-threatening illnesses: diagnosed first with leukamia aged 4, the drugs given to treat her cancer caused a rare side effect and damaged her heart. Because of the risks involved she initially refused a heart transplant but 2 years later changed her mind as she prepared to celebrate a birthday doctors had never thought she'd see. In August 2009, Hannah was successfully given a new heart at Great Ormond Street Hospital and has now returned home.
