Polymorphisms of genes implicated in the immune response after kidney transplantation are often linked with the recipients outcome. ICAM1, VCAM1, CTLA4 ang PTPN22 genes polymorphisms have been studied in regard to kidney transplantation. This book is a summary of the main findings of those studies and an attempt to describe the future perspectives of connection between genetics and transplantology.
